What Do You Need To Make This Easy Tofu Scramble?

  • one package of tofu
  • nutritional yeast
  • turmeric
  • salt
  • a non-stick skillet

 

Tara’s Tips for Perfect Tofu Scramble

 

  • Simply open the package, pour off any extra water + crumble. No need to press the tofu.
  • You can choose firm, extra firm, or silken tofu for this one.Β  After you make this a few times, you can see which one you like best for the texture.Β  My favorite for this one is firm tofu, right in the middle!
  • Heat your crumbled tofu in a non-stick tofu until you get a scrambled egg-like consistency.
  • Once cooked, you can eat this in a sandwich, roll it into a wrap, on a plate alongside your favorite breakfast potatoes or fruit.

Easy Tofu Scramble

No eggs? No problem! This vegan scrambled egg recipe requires no eggs! Just tofu and some spices! Ready in minutes and healthy!

Ingredients
  • 14 oz package of organic tofu (choose firm, extra firm or silken)
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Directions
  • Step 1 Remove tofu from packaging and drain out all of the water from the packaging. Squeeze out any excess water.
  • Step 2 Crumble tofu into small pieces with a fork or your hand into a bowl, sprinkle with nutritional yeast, turmeric and salt, gently toss to coat all of the tofu.
  • Step 3 Transfer the tofu mixture to a non-stick skillet or cast iron pan. Cook over medium-low heat for 5 minutes or until tofu is heated all the way through. Add a tsp of water as necessary to prevent sticking and browning.
  • Step 4 Transfer to serving dish and serve or eat immediately with fruit, toast, breakfast potatoes, spinach, or make it into a breakfast sandwich!
