This Air Fryer Pumpkin Recipe is super easy + packed with flavor + turns out perfect every time! This is the quickest + absolute best way to make roasted pumpkin! So fabulously versatile it can be added into your favorite recipe or eaten as is!
Tara’s Tips For Air Perfect Fryer Pumpkin:
- Choose the perfect pumpkin. Those giant pumpkins that we carve are not for eating, stick to jack-o-lanterns for those. The perfect pumpkin for this recipe is the small pie pumpkin you find in the produce section of the grocery store. They will often be called sugar pumpkins. They are sweeter and more similar to a squash.
- Be careful when cutting your pie pumpkin. Cut the top off + cut it in half. Then, the entire thing needs to be peeled. This takes some time. Be patient + be careful, it will be worth it.
- Use ALL of the spices I include in the recipe instructions! This spice combination is the key to getting these super flavorful. These little cubes go from boring pumpkin to fall flavor explosion. Don’t skimp!
- Air fryers vary. My Air Fryer Pumpkin takes 10 minutes at 350 degrees. If the edges are not lightly golden brown they are not done + they will be soggy. If this is the case, shake the basket and keep cooking. They need to be crisped up a little.
How To Serve Air Fryer Pumpkin
They are outrageous as is. Dunk them into Creamy Avocado Dressing or Vegan Ghost Pepper Ranch Dressing or even Easy Vegan Ranch. Alternatively, you could layer them into Pumpkin Black Bean Tacos or as an autumn side dish to Pumpkin Veggie Burgers or on top of Thanksgiving Salad With Pumpkin Vinaigrette.
Air Fryer Pumpkin
Air fry pumpkin?!?! YES!!!! Fall flavor explosion! Perfectly roasted + so easy + versatile!
Ingredients
- 1 sugar pie pumpkin
- olive or avocado oil spray (optional)
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 - 1/2 tsp chili pepper powder (to taste)
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp salt + black pepper
- 2 tsp garlic powder
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees F.
- Step 2 Prepare the pumpkin by thoroughly washing the outside and drying. Cut off the stem then cut in half vertically. Scoop out all the pulp + seeds. Peel the thick orange skin off of the outside of the pumpkin with a vegetable peeler. Cut the meat of the pumpkin into wedges + then into 1/2 inch cubes (see photos above).
- Step 3 Place the pumpkin chunks into a bowl and spray with oil spray (optional). Then, sprinkle with all of the spices (paprika, chili pepper powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt).
- Step 4 Transfer to the basket of your air fryer.
- Step 5 Roast in air fryer for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Shake the basket once during the 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, check to see that each chunk is golden brown on the edges. If not, cook for an additional 3-5 minutes or until golden brown.
- Step 6 Carefully remove pumpkin from air fryer.
- Step 7 Serve with your favorite dip or as a side dish or layer into a taco or burrito or baked potato!
