One of the most common questions I get asked is if granola is actually healthy. Granola is simply oats and nuts, right? So, then it is healthy, right? Not all granola is created equal. If you buy store-bough granola, you must read the ingredient label carefully and be sure you are happy with the nutrition profile. For me, they often have too much sugar or oils. What’s a girl to do? You guessed it, make my own! This recipe for easy healthy homemade granola is so crunchy and healthy and yummy!
What you will need to make this Easy Healthy Homemade Granola:
- Oats
- Any kind of nuts you love – I use a combination of sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds (peptias), pecans, and almonds
- Honey if not vegan, Maple syrup if you are
- Cinnamon and Vanilla
- Coconut Oil
- A jar for leftovers

Tara’s Tips for Easy Healthy Homemade Granola Recipe Success:
- Melt the coconut oil! Solid oil will not work. At all.
- Customize it! If you love one nut more than another, add more of your favorite.
- Don’t overcook! Remove from oven when the granola is just golden brown, not dark brown!
- Let it sit! When you let this granola rest, it gets crunchy and clumpy and amazing π
