This Vegan Dill Pickle Ranch is the perfect creamy blend of silken tofu + a few simple ingredients giving you a healthy + dairy-free + nut-free + oil-free dill pickle flavored ranch dressing in minutes! When I went plant-based I thought I would never eat ranch dressing again. Now I eat it all the time! I especially love this dill pickle flavor as a dip or spread onto a sandwich. So so so delish!
Tofu In Salad Dressing? YES!
Not sure about adding tofu into salad dressings! Why not?!?! Using tofu as the base for a creamy dressing gives you that creamy texture without the fat, oil, and calories. Above all, you get an extra protein punch with the protein-filled tofu! Still not sure? Check out my article here where I go through everything you ever wanted to know about silken tofu. I make a tofu-based salad dressing at least once a week. Some of my favorites are Dairy Free Green Goddess Dressing and Silken Tofu Creamy Italian Dressing. If you prefer to use cashews as a base, try my recipe for Easy Vegan Ranch which isn’t nut-free but is so thick + creamy + tastes just like traditional ranch dressing.
Tara’s Tips for Perfect Vegan Dill Pickle Ranch
Silken Tofu
- I go into lots of detail on silken tofu in this article: The Vegetarian’s Guide to Silken Tofu on choosing your tofu and preparing it. If you are new to silken tofu, check that out.
- Whole Foods and most grocery stores where you buy your refrigerated tofu have silken tofu right next to the firm or extra firm. This is perfect for making dressing. I don’t typically use the boxed version you find on the shelves not refrigerated but if that is all you have, go for it.
Dill
- Use fresh dill! To get as close to ranch AND dill flavor, use fresh dill! If all you have is dried dill, add an xtra tablespoon in as it is not as flavorful.
What to eat with this perfect vegan dill pickle ranch
- Put it on your salad as dressing. Check out all of my dressings + salad creations right here 🥗!
- Dunk your Air Fried Buffalo Cauliflower or Air Fryer Green Beans or Zucchini Fries in it,
- Layer it into a wrap or a sandwich or pile it onto your veggie burger. I use mine on my Easy Lentil Veggie Burger (Eggless!), Chickpea Veggie Burgers, and drizzled on top of my Vegan Tempeh BLT Salad Bowl
Silken Tofu Vegan Ranch (nut-free)
This Silken Tofu Vegan Ranch is creamy + perfect + SO healthy! It is oil-free and nut-free and packed with protein so get ready to drizzle it on your salad, layer it into a sandwich or use it as a dip.
Ingredients
- 16 ounces organic silken tofu
- 1/4 cup pickle juice from dill pickles
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup finely chopped dill pickles
- 3 tbsp fresh dill
Directions
- Step 1 Place all ingredients into a high speed blender (except dill and pickles). Don’t add the dill at first because you want to keep the dill intact and this will lessen your chances of turning your ranch green. Blend until smooth. Add the dill and pulse 3 or 4 times, add pickles, pulse until desired consistency. Taste for salt and add more salt for a saltier dressing.
- Step 2 Serve as a dip, layered into a sandwich or wrap, or on top of your favorite greens.
- Step 3 Store any leftovers in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
- Step 4 For Meal Prep: divide into single serving containers separate from salad or meal. Apply dressing when ready to eat.
