Tofu In Salad Dressing? YES!

Not sure about adding tofu into salad dressings? Why not?!?! Using tofu as the base for a creamy dressing gives you that perfectly smooth texture without the fat, oil, and calories.  Above all, you get an extra protein punch with the protein-filled tofu! Still not sure? Check out my article here in The Vegetarian’s Guide to Silken Tofu where I go through everything you ever wanted to know about silken tofu. Using oil-free dressing is just one way to create a healthy salad that still tastes good.  Want to learn more? Read this: How To Build A Healthy Salad That Still Tastes Good.

Tara’s Tips For Perfect Dairy-Free Jalapeño Cilantro Dressing:

  • For the spice I created this recipe using one jalapeño.  If you LOVE spice, add a second one.  If you are sensitive to spice, use one jalapeño but remove the seeds.
  • Using this for meal prep? Divide into single serving containers. Make your salads or pasta or bowl and portion into meal prep containers. Apply dressing when ready to eat. Try to keep refrigerated until ready.
  • This Dairy-Free Jalapeño Cilantro Dressing can be used as a dip or a dressing or a drizzle on your favorite bowl.  I LOVE to dunk my raw or air fried veggies in this dressing.  It goes perfectly with these Sweet Potato Black Bean Bowls.
  • If you prefer to use cashews as a base for your dressing instead of silken tofu? Try my other recipe for Easy Vegan Ranch which isn’t nut-free but is so thick + creamy + tastes just like traditional ranch dressing.
