Healthy-ish, homemade, vegan cinnamon rolls with icing are made with fresh ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen! Not only do you NOT have to go out to buy the cinnamon roll, you may not even need to leave the house for the ingredients to make these awesome and amazing homemade vegan cinnamon rolls with icing. I already welcomed you to my universe.Β Certainly, you remember?!!?!?!Β The one where it isn’t too annoying or difficult to make the cinnamon roll?
To clarify, I said vegan, and easy, and still delicious!
First of all, you have permission to fall back in love with cinnamon rolls π. Secondly, just follow the steps in the recipe. Thirdly, and most importantly, you will soon be eating these fluffy, yummy, fool-proof vegan cinnamon rolls with icing in no time at all! So, lets get going!

Vegan Cinnamon Rolls with Icing
These cinnamon rolls are so yummy that you will never need to go out to find the perfect cinnamon roll again!
Ingredients
- Cinnamon Rolls:
- 1 cup unsweetened plain plant-based milk
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1/2 cup vegan butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar
- For the Icing:
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp melted vegan butter
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp unsweetened plain plant-based milk
Directions
- Step 1 For the Cinnamon Rolls:
- Step 2 Heat milk + vegan butter in a saucepan over medium heat until butter is melted. Do not heat to a boil.
- Step 3 Remove from heat and set aside to cool until the milk mixture reaches 110 degrees on a thermometer. Adding yeast prior to proper temperature will destroy the yeast and the dough will not rise.
- Step 4 Once cooled to 110 degrees, transfer to a large bowl, add yeast and sprinkle with 1 tbsp sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Step 5 After 10 minutes, transfer to stand mixer and stir in flour 1/2 cup at a time until the dough forms and becomes sticky. Once ingredients are combined you will have a sticky ball, begin to slowly knead and increase the speed to medium for 4 minutes or until a ball forms. If you do not have a stand mixer, knead by hand for 7 minutes. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with clear plastic wrap, place in a warm place to rise (takes about 1 hour to double in size). I place mine in my oven with the oven turned OFF but the light turned ON. Works every time.
- Step 6 After the dough has doubled in size, spread the dough onto the flat, floured surface and roll into a large rectangle. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle on the cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar.
- Step 7 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Step 8 Tightly roll the dough and place the seam-side down on surface. Cut into 2 inch sections and transfer to a well greased pan.
- Step 9 Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until edges are slightly golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool prior to icing.
- Step 10 For the Icing:
- Step 11 Mix the powdered sugar + vanilla together in a medium size mixing bowl.
- Step 12 Slowly add in the milk while stirring until desired consistency is achieved.
- Step 13 Spread evenly over cinnamon rolls. Enjoy!
