6 Minute Instant Pot Spaghetti Squash

Nope, I didn’t say one hour. You heard me correctly. Set your Instant Pot to 6 minutes and there you have it. Get your favorite sauce ready!

Let’s Talk About Spaghetti Squash

  • One cup contains 42 calories, 10g carbs, 2g fiber, 1g protein.

Instant Pot Spaghetti Squash Instructions:

  • Step 1:

    • Thoroughly wash the outside of your spaghetti squash
  • Step 2:

    • Pierce the outside of the spaghetti squash a few times with a fork
  • Step 3:

    • Place the whole spaghetti squash in the microwave for 90 seconds (optional, however, this softens the skin and makes cutting in half A LOT easier)
  • Step 4:

    • Cut off the stem and the butt (top and bottom off)

  • Step 5:

    • Now you have created a flat surface to stand the squash up on. Using a large knife cut the squash in half long ways (from top to bottom) yielding 2 long halves.

  • Step 6:

    • Scoop out the stringy flesh and seeds from the center, discard
  • Step 7:

    • Spray or drizzle olive oil on the inside of the spaghetti squash and then sprinkle with salt
  • Step 8:

    • Add 2 cups of water to the bottom of your Instant Pot. Place the steaming rack trivet with handles in your Instant Pot (should have come with your pot. If not, use a regular trivet but the handles are helpful). With cut ends up, put spaghetti squash in your Instant Pot. Be sure it sits below the MAX line.Β 
    • Place cover on and lock, turn the vent knob to SEAL, press MANUAL, press up or down arrows to 6 minutes.

  • Step 9:

    • When timer goes off, quick release the steam manually according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Step 10:

    • Once cool enough, carefully remove spaghetti squash from your Instant Pot using the trivet handles. Pull spaghetti strands away from the skin using a fork, like you are shredding it into spaghetti strands, it shreds quite easily.
  • Step 11:

    • Top with your favorite sauce, toppings, or sprinkle with parmesan cheese.Β

Instant Pot Spaghetti Squash

Spaghetti squash is a healthy alternative to pasta. Instant Pot Spaghetti squash is so easy to make, set your Instant Pot to 6 just minutes!

Ingredients
  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • olive oil for drizzle or spray
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Directions
  • Step 1 Thoroughly wash the outside of your spaghetti squash.
