A good healthy homemade salad dressing recipe is an absolute necessity in any kitchen! This one is versatile and perfect for busy weeknight dinners, to pack in lunchboxes or for meal prep! Just a few simple ingredients, 5 minutes + a jar is all you need!

Why make homemade salad dressing?

Store-bought salad dressings can have lots of hidden, unnecessary ingredients such as sugars, fats, preservatives, and even meat products.  We steer clear of store-bought salad dressings and if you want to lose weight, maintain weight, keep blood sugars under control, you will too.  It is also nice to know that you can change a bowl of raw veggies into a delicious lunch or dinner by easily making a homemade dressing out of ingredients you have right in your own kitchen!

Olive Oil + Apple Cider Vinegar + Mustard + Garlic + Lemon

What’s in our salad jars?

  1. Spinach/Lettuce
  2. Cucumbers
  3. Carrots
  4. Tomatoes
  5. Broccoli florets
  6. Other add-ins
    • olives
    • sunflower seeds or other nuts
    • mushrooms
    • sprouts
    • chickpeas

Where do we get protein when we eat a salad?

  1. Spinach has protein! So do other veggies, not sure? Read this: Vegetables with the Most Protein
  2. Top with Air Fryer Buffalo Chick Peas
  3. Add in some Air Fryer Buffalo Tofu
  4. Finish off with slivered almonds, pistachios, walnuts, or brazil nuts, yum!
  5. Layer in some Cilantro Jalapeno Hummus (Oil-Free!) or Oil-Free Chipotle Hummus
  6. Slice up your favorite grilled veggie burger

Healthy Homemade Salad Dressing

Homemade Healthy Vegan Gluten Free Salad Dressing. Perfect for the vegetarian family on the go. Five Ingredients. Vegan. Gluten Free. Make ahead and pour over dinner or lunch salads all week long!

Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup Olive Oil
  • 2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste or puree
  • 2 tsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt + pepper
Directions
  • Step 1 Pour all ingredients into a jar and shake, add additional salt and pepper to taste. Pour over salad immediately or store in a jar in refrigerator for up to one week. Enjoy!
