Tara’s Tips For Perfect Instant Pot Pumpkin Steel Cut Oatmeal:
- Make a big batch and separate into one cup glass containers and store in freezer for busy mornings
- I make mine with water but you can substitute any kind of dairy or non-dairy milk while cooking
- Don’t manually release the steam when the timer goes off!!
- The Instant Pot gets set for 10 minutes but the total cook time is about 25 minutes
- Topping ideas: slivered almonds, nut butters, bananas, unsweetened coconut flakes, more + more cinnamon, chopped walnuts, pepitas π
- This is an ABSOLUTELY PERFECT brunch or breakfast party idea (we have done it!) Make a big batch and set up self-serve toppings β€

Instant Pot Pumpkin Steel Cut Oatmeal
The perfect gluten free, vegan breakfast packed with nutrients and fiber. This recipe makes eating oats quick, fail proof and hassle free! Yes, please! Cinnamon + pumpkin + pumpkin pie spice turn these healthy, vegan oats into a bowl of deliciousness!
Ingredients
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- sweetener of choice (2 tbsp: jaggery powder, maple syrup, honey (if not vegan), coconut palm sugar, turnbinado sugar)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- optional toppings - slivered almonds, nut butters, berries, bananas, unsweetened coconut flakes, more + more cinnamon, chopped walnuts, pepitas
Directions
- Step 1 Place all of the ingredients in Instant Pot.
- Step 2 Turn the valve on the lid to βsealβ.
- Step 3 Press βmanualβ and adjust time to 10 minutes.
- Step 4 Allow steam to release gradually or for 15 minutes.
- Step 5 Do not quick release the steam!
- Step 6 Open lid, give it a good stir, taste test and adjust sweetness as needed.
- Step 7 Apply toppings when ready to eat.
- Step 8 Serve immediately or store in single servings in refrigerator for up to 7 days or freezer for one month!
