These Healthy Air Fryer Mushrooms make the perfect side dish or snack! Ready in 10 minutes, oil-free, and requires only 4 simple ingredients. Another easy + healthy + oil-free air fryer recipe for the win!
If you know me, you know I love my air fryer. As hubby and I continue on our journey with purely plant-based eating, the air fryer has been a real life-saver. I can toss (just about) anything in there and have a healthy + filling snack or side dish in minutes. Most times, I don’t use any oil at all. Occasionally, I will spray the veggies with a little olive oil spray. Not this time! These Healthy Air Fryer Mushrooms require no oil or spray and still turn our super flavorful!
Tara’s Tips For Healthy Air Fryer Mushrooms Recipe Perfection:
- Choose your mushrooms: I used baby portabella but cremini work perfect too! I haven’t tried it with white mushrooms. If you do, leave a comment on how they turn out!
- Clean + dry your mushrooms before applying any spices. Make sure they are dry first!
- Eat them fresh + hot. These are best when they are fresh out of the air fryer. If you need to reheat them later, toss them back in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes. The microwave will make them too soggy.
- Don’t like garlic powder? Substitute onion powder or smoked paprika. Both awesome.
- I use coconut aminos for these mushrooms. If you prefer, you can substitute soy sauce or even liquid aminos.
- Don’t cut the mushrooms too small. I use a combination of thick slices and quarters.
- Dip and dip and dip! Dunk these guys in your favorite dressing or dip. My favorites are Creamy Vegan Avocado Dressing, Vegan Chipotle Mayo, Dairy Free Green Goddess Dressing, or Vegan Creamy Italian. All of these pair fabulously!
- You could also use these as a pizza or pasta topping or mix them with quinoa.

Hi! I was just wondering what air fryer you use.
Hi! I actually have 2 air fryers. I love them both! I have the Ninja and a Philips. They both cook the same. The basket of the Ninja has a better non-stick surface (partially because its newer 😂). Hope this helps!
