- Peel + Wash your tomatillos
- Snip the ends off your guajillo chili peppers
- Boil until soft
- Toss in your food processor or blender
- Add in spices

Chipotle Hot Salsa Copycat Recipe
YUM! Chipotle Hot Salsa in your own kitchen! Forget take out. This is even better!
Ingredients
- 3 guajillo chili peppers
- 15 tomatillos, rinsed + husks removed
- 5 cups water
- 8 cloves garlic, peeled
- 2-3 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tsp vinegar
- lemon 2 tsp
- 2 tsp lime
- 1 tsp cumin
- salt 1 tsp or to taste
Directions
- Step 1 Snip the ends of your guajillo chili peppers with a kitchen scissor. Do this over a medium size sauce pan to prevent losing any pepper seeds. Discard the stems.
- Step 2 Add tomatillos and water to the same pan + simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes or until tomatillos are softened. Remove from heat.
- Step 3 Remove guajillo chili peppers and tomatillos from water. with a slotted spoon. Transfer to food processor or blender.
- Step 4 Add remaining ingredients + process or blend until smooth. Start with 2 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes. Test salt and spice level adding the additional crushed red pepper flakes for more spice, salt for desired saltiness.
- Step 5 Serve with chips, in a taco, drizzled over nachos, or wrapped in a burrito.
- Step 6 Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Step 7 Enjoy!
