Maybe you need a meatless option packed with flavor for your meal prep this week. You have come to the right place! This recipe for Air Fryer Italian Herb Tofu checks all of the boxes.
Tara’s Tips For Perfect Air Fryer Italian Herb Tofu:
- Yes, they will still be crispy without the oil. If you use olive oil spray, feel free to spray these before you toss them in the air fryer. This will give them a little extra coating and the seasonings stick better. Optional but awesome.
- Set a timer and flip each piece of tofu over halfway through cooking. You won’t regret it, both sides will be equally crispy. Some air fryers cook differently. These could take an extra 2-3 minutes, so check yours at the 10 minute mark + set the timer for 2 more minutes to crisp them up.
- Eat these right away if you can! If you need to make them ahead of time , toss them back in the air fryer for 3 minutes and they will crisp back up. If you make these for meal prep, you can microwave them + they will be super flavorful just not as crispy.
Serving Suggestions:
Dunk these tofu triangles of awesome in Meatless Marinara Sauce or Three Ingredient Tomato Sauce or Creamy Spinach Avocado Sauce. Pair these with Oil-Free Vegan Pasta Salador Crispy Air Fryer Cauliflower Gnocchi or Air Fryer Zucchini and Onions or Sun-Dried Tomato Brussels Sprouts. No Air Fryer? No Problem!

Pan-fry: Coat your tofu cubes in a few tablespoons of sesame oil and sauté over medium-high heat until golden brown on all sides. Easy!

Air Fryer Italian Herb Tofu
This Air Fryer Italian Herb Tofu is perfectly crispy + flavorful, ready in 15 minutes!
Ingredients
- 14 ounce package of organic extra firm tofu
- 3 tbsp liquid aminos or soy sauce
- 2 tbsp dried Italian herb seasoning
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- optional olive oil or avocado oil spray
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F.
- Step 2 Drain water from tofu packaging, no need to press.
- Step 3 Cut tofu into triangles or cubes of even size.
- Step 4 Place the tofu in a shallow bowl, add liquid aminos, Italian herb seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Give everything a gentle stir to coat each piece of tofu. At this point you can allow tofu to marinate for 15 minutes up to 8 hours or use immediately. Optional, now you can spray tofu with avocado or olive oil spray (if you use oil).
- Step 5 Transfer tofu to the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air Fry at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, flipping each tofu cube over after 5 minutes of cooking. Depending on the size of your air fryer, this might need to be done in batches as the tofu needs to be in a single layer in the air fryer. If your tofu is not golden brown and crispy at this time, air fry an additional 2 minutes.
- Step 6 Carefully remove from air fryer basket. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or over pasta or pair with your favorite veggies. Enjoy!
