Chocolate covered strawberries are the perfect treat to whip up to bring to a dinner or brunch or even enjoy at home! They are so pretty, and I just love bite-size treats! The best part of learning how to make chocolate covered strawberries at home is that once you have the technique down for dipping the strawberries, you can dip any of your favorite fruits or even pretzels and cookies!
Tara’s Tips for Perfect Chocolate Covered Strawberries
- Wash the strawberries and be sure they are completely dry.
- Keep them refrigerated until ready to dip.
- Use parchment paper liner so they don’t stick.
- For the chocolate, you can use a bar, chips, chunks, or a bar that is greater than 70% cacao or labeled dairy-free.Β
- Don’t overheat the chocolate, it will burn!
- If you choose to dip fruit or other goodies that do not have a stem, pierce the item onto the end of a skewer to dip into the chocolate or use mini tongs
Directions:
- Wash and fully dry 1 lb strawberries
- Chill for at least 20 minutes in refrigerator
- Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper
- Melt 12 oz chocolate chips or chunks on a small saucepan 90 seconds or until melted on low heat (do not overheat!) Stir continuously while melting
- Hold the strawberry by the stem and roll in the chocolate
- Place strawberry on parchment lined cookie sheet
- Repeat with each strawberry
- Transfer cookie sheet to refrigerator for 10 minutes or until chocolate has hardened
- Enjoy!
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days
