Tara’s Tips for Perfect Ghost Pepper Blender Salsa:
- Choose your tomatoes wisely.Β Vine-Ripened tomatoes are typically best for salsa.Β If you can’t find them, the next best option is Campari.Β Regardless of which style tomato you have available, be sure they are bright red and not grainy or pasty inside.Β This will give your salsa a different texture and flavor.
- Use white onions in this one. Β Not the red or sweet yellow onions.
- Fresh cilantro works best.Β Dried cilantro will not have enough flavor in this salsa + soaks up too much water.
- Ghost peppers are VERY spicy. Β Start with 1/2 or one whole pepper + add a second if not hot enough. Β This salsa is very spicy with even just 1/2 a ghost pepper!
- Not much chopping needed. Β Roughly chop the onions, tomatoes + cilantro, peel the garlic + toss everything in your blender. Give it a whirl! Yum!
