Easy Vegan Pan Fried Apples
Apples are an absolutely perfect food on their own. In my opinion, nothing else needs to be done to an apple to make it simply a wonderful food. However, if you are looking for something just sweet enough to satisfy a craving but are not willing to sacrifice the calories, these pan fried apples are the answer!
As I was making these, I was eating them right out of the pan! I barely had enough left to photograph! Yes, they are that good! We use these pan fried apples to top homemade waffles in place of heavy syrups or jams. However, they can be tossed with some vegan (or dairy) yogurt or gluten free oatmeal or even quinoa. You can also put them over ice cream or on toast! The possibilities for using basic pan fried apples are endless.
What is so great about apples for vegetarians (or anyone!):
- high in fiber
- low in calories
- loaded with antioxidants (help fight cancer) and phytonutrients (fight heart disease)
- high in soluble fiber good to help lower cholesterol
- good source of iron
- when you chew on them they help clean your teeth and gums reducing your risk of gum disease and improving whiteness! yeah! bonus!
As you can see, I kept my pan fried apples all different shapes to please the crowd but you can cut them however you like and they will turn out just as delicious. These pan fried apples are ready in minutes and require only four simple ingredients you probably have in your kitchen already! They are vegan and gluten free and loved by everyone!
